Caren has been with Joyce’s from the company’s humble beginnings in Joyce’s home. Not only is she a member of the Joyce’s Jewelry team, she is also a member of Joyce’s family. In years past, Caren worked full time as a teacher, filling in at Joyce’s during the Christmas season and the summer months. She joined our staff full time when we moved into our new location in 2009 and is now our Accounts Manager. In her own words, “I love working here, everyone here from co-workers to customers become a part of our extended family.”
By the way, Caren got the best thing ever at Joyce’s, it is where she met her husband, Richard.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry and why?
My Engagement ring. My favorite, not just for obvious reasons, but I incorporated my mother's diamond earrings into the mounting. I did this before she passed, and she loved the sentiment. I love it.
What is your favorite food?
Gnocchi. I order them out, and I make them at home. I make both kinds, with potato and with ricotta. Making gnocchi with friends and drinking limoncello - what could be better!
If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I want to take a river cruise through Europe. It would have to be the cruise that includes Paris, a place I have always wanted to go.
If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Living or dead and excluding Jesus, I would have dinner with Cary Grant. He was so handsome, charming, English, funny, suave and debonair. He could talk about early Hollywood and I would be in ah.
If you had the opportunity to purchase one piece of jewelry at Joyce’s Jewelry, what piece would you choose and why?
I would buy a pair of Dove's earrings. The only thing holding me back is that I cannot decide what cut and color because they are all so beautiful. The reason why I would buy earrings is because, other than my wedding rings, I wear them every day. I buy other pieces of jewelry and then rarely wear them, but I always wear earrings.
